It all began back in 2004, when top dating coach Nick Savoy teamed up with Erik von Markovik (aka "Mystery") to teach men the secrets to pick women up without having to be rich or good looking. Using what they called the Mystery Method - Nick Savoy and Mystery taught seminars, training, and bootcamps all over the world.
These Mystery Method bootcamps were very popular and eventually featured in the book The Game, by Neil Strauss. This popularized the term “pick up artist” or PUA for short. The opposite of a PUA was held to be an “Average Frustrated Chump” or AFC. (These terms are not much used in dating science today and Love Systems does not use them at all.)
Many techniques that Nick Savoy and Mystery taught at bootcamps were summarized in the book The Mystery Method: How to Get Beautiful Women into Bed, for which Nick Savoy (currently President of Love Systems) and Mystery hold the copyright. Nick Savoy was the founder and President of Mystery Method Corporation, while Erik von Markovik (adopting the name “Mystery”) shared instructing duties.
Today, The Mystery Method: How to Get Beautiful Women into Bed is generally considered to be outdated. Most men today use the award-winning Magic Bullets Handbook, which has been translated into dozens of languages around the world and is the subject of more than one TV show.
Still, the Mystery Method book played an important role in the development of the Love Systems community. It helped create the TV show The Pickup Artist, for which Nick Savoy acted as a consultant, on the VH1 network.
Another change from the days of Mystery Method is the real-world dating lab. With concepts as complex as attraction and dating it's not enough to simply copy someone else and hope to get the same results. Love Systems, for example, has the mission of creating a system that works for anyone. Because of that, highly-trained Love Systems instructors, who are all regularly ranked among the top dating coaches of the world, are also incredibly diverse. From 5'2 to 6 feet, white, black, Hispanic, Indian, East Asian, from their 20s to 40s, with different tastes in women and relationship goals, around the world from Sweden to Thailand, our diverse instructors have rigorously tested and made improvements to the Love Systems model.
Another difference from Mystery Method is that Love Systems does not define its instructors as pick up artists. Some men certainly do want to live the pick up artist lifestyle and be able to go to a bar or coffee shop or party every day and know that they can take home an attractive woman. Several Love Systems instructors live that lifestyle and can coach you on how to get it. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with that if you’re honest about your intent. But some men aren’t trying to be pick up artists – they want more options and better options in their dating life, or to break through a dry spell, or to get that one special girl, etc., and so Love Systems dating coaches help them reach their goals.)
Finally, the options for learning have exploded since the Mystery Method days. Of course, the very successful bootcamps still run. Like Mystery Method bootcamps, Love Systems bootcamps go for three days and two nights, and both nights are spent in bars and clubs meeting and attracting women. This way, instructors can demonstrate the techniques as well as correct you on yours – live. But now there are also Day Game Workshops, Stripper and Hired Guns Workshops, and Long-Term Mentorship programs. As well as the famous Love Systems SuperConference (a must-attend event at least once in your life).
Whether your journey is just beginning or you're a seasoned veteran, I wish you every success to get the women, and the life, you deserve.
